60 percent of mobile handsets will have inbuilt browser in 2015? Look at the ABI research report


The recent studies of ABI Research and their reports forecasts over 60 percent of mobile handsets will have inbuilt browser in 2015. Also he clearly mentioned that the number of mobile devices would be double of current penetration rate.

Mark Beccue, Senior Analyst in ABI Research explains, “Mobile browsers are evolving two paths”. One is highly sophisticated browsers and another one is proxy based browsers.

The highly sophisticated browsers, which have full control of internet browsers and will be used in smartphones or other enhanced phones. These devices have advanced application processors, expanded memory capacity, screen size and good resolution. Here the internet browser requires 64MB of memory to run internet.

The proxy based browsers like opera Mini, allows the browser to run on lower-cost processors and only 4MB of memory.

ABI research also mention the report of another study says, from 2009 to 2015 the data usage (like growing 3G technology) in Western Europe and North America is expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 42% to 55% respectively
